Restless Response
Landgraf/Lefeber/Koch dedicate themselves to traditional folk and country songs with their album "Restless Response," blending them with modern elements such as prepared instruments, drone sounds, and electronics within an instrumental and vocal free jazz context. The repertoire, featuring violin, acoustic guitar, and banjo, sounds inherently traditional and folkloric, but it is transformed into a completely new cosmos of sound diversity with the addition of distorted electric guitars and sound improvisations. The result is a multifaceted blend of American old-time music, folk, country, and free improvised music. The versatility in interpretation, language, and preferences of the individual musicians contributes to a unique listening experience for the audience.

"Eine radikale akustische Musik, bei der die Freiheit das Prinizp ist. Nicht nur für Freunde von Eugene Chadbourne ganz wunderbar!" (Jazz thing April/Mai 2024)"
Paul Acquaro
"On Restless Response, American folk music has seemingly captured the interest of three innovative, young musicians out of [...]Germany. They, however, have no interest in smoothing over and synthesizing the tonalities of folk with jazz, or even directly deconstructing it and reassembling it anew, rather they are amplify its dissonances and bring experimental techniques to this timeless music."
